MIDWAY MOTORS RESPONSE TO COVID-19

We are committed to our Midway family and your loved ones safety during this difficult time. Please follow this page for updates.

 

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a concern that is now impacting our daily lives in Kansas. Our top priority at Midway Motors is the health and safety of our employees and customers.

As we sort through the ever-changing information surrounding COVID-19, please know that we are taking the necessary precautions to keep our employees safe. We have implemented additional cleaning measures as recommended by the CDC and KDHE. As of right now, Midway Motors will remain open during normal business hours.

Please assist us in keeping the workplace clean by regularly sanitizing 'touch points' throughout the dealership and particularly in high traffic areas.

STAYING HEALTHY:

Follow these guidelines to limit exposure to COVID-19:

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

· Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

· Stay home if/when you are sick.

· Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

· Avoid sharing personal household items

· Practice social distancing

· Avoid using other people's phones, workspaces, tools, etc.

· Wipe down keyboards, touch pads, etc. - and don't forget your phones.

· All non-critical face to face meetings are cancelled. If you have to communicate face to face, please maintain a safe distance.

· No travel for business outside the state of Kansas or to any areas with a known case of COVID-19.

· All employees are strongly encouraged to practice social distancing.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act was signed by the President on March 18th and will take effect no later than April 2nd, 2020.

The Act requires most employers with fewer than 500 employees to provide employees with up to two weeks of paid sick time if an employee is "unable to work" because the employee:

  1. Is subject to federal, state or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19.
  2. Has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19.
  3. Is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and seeking a medical diagnosis.
  4. Is caring for an individual who is subject to an order described in the categories (A), (B) or (C).
  5. Is caring for a son or daughter whose school or place of care has been closed due to COVID-19 precautions.
  6. Is experiencing any other substantially similar conditions specified by the Department of Health and Human Services in consultation with the Department of Treasury and Labor.

Employees subject to the categories above are eligible for 80 hours of paid sick leave effective March 18th, 2020.
